Stefan Schöberlein and Kristen Lillvis recently published a feature on creating the Movable site in The Southern Quarterly. Their piece explores how personal stories—in the form of prose sketches, poems, video essays, interviews, and art—often play a central role in personal and therapeutic biographies and how the Movable site helps preserve these narratives. The essay discusses the challenges of creating a public historical archive of the present moment; examines the issue of negotiating between academic, therapeutic, and activist interests and audiences; and demonstrates the value of these stories for scholars of creative writing, art, and literature as well as the digital humanities community. Congratulations!
